I have a set of Ross shelf pistons, part number 80762.

Will they work with 2.25 valves... or will they need to be fly-cut? Thanks

I run the Ross 99524 flat tops and they have clearance for the 2.250 valve around the pocket but you will have to check piston to valve for the cam spec's that you are using.

good luck

Call Ross and I'm sure their Tech guys can tell you how big the cutter is that was used on that particular piston #.

i ran a Ross shelf piston in my BB, they were touching in the radius of the valve notch, best to have them opened up another .050

I asked ross in a e-mail pretty much the same question but was a different part number (99539). Their response was:
"The pistons are cut at 2.300 we recommend at least .050 radial clearance around the valve. You probably could get away with a 2.250 but it will be tight. You will have to clay the top of the piston and check the clearance"
