Are you guys mounting them in the pan or in line, how much change do you see in the line during a normal warm up/run(if you use the line)

I have said it before..... putting a trans temp gauge in my Duster was something I never should have done. An old friend of mine told me not to do it. He said all you're going to do is keep looking at that gauge as it gets higher and it's going to worry you when your mind should be on other things...........HE WAS RIGHT

I have run them in the line and in the pan.
The line is good because you know what the fluid temp coming out of the converter is as soon as you start the car up and put it in gear. The only thing bad about monitoring line temp is that you have to have the car running and in gear to get an accurate reading. And it surges alot faster when you make a pass and if I remember correctly its quite a bit higher then the pan temp.
Mine was like 50 or 60 degrees higher.
The temp guage in the pan seems to react slower on my cars.

I use a toggle switch with 2 senders. One for engine oil temp and the other for trans. A 3 position switch with a 3rd sender could be used to read trans line temp as well. Doug
I have a Cyberdyne gauge with a three postion rotary switch to monitor the water, oil and trans. temps, it is real slow to change thr readings when I try to use it with the igntion on, taking forever to get to the current reading of that sender , it counts down or up one degree at a time . If I turn the power off and then switch it and turn it abck on it reads the tempature of that sender immedialty Maybe some of the other brands won't do that, I wish mine didn't
