I used Valvoline 75W-140 fully synthetic gear oil and bought a tube of limited slip addative....all at NAPA. BTW not cheap...about $75 but I will probably never change it in my lifetime.

I cast-a-vote ferr Mobil 1 syn gear lube. GOOD STUFF ...and reasonably priced.

AS CLOSE to the old SKUNK-OIL as I have found.

Is it recommended to run a limited slip in all Dana 60 housings. Both Trak Loc and Power Loc?

Actually I was asking a question on whether all Dana 60's need the additive?

I think you are correct about not mixing synthetic and nonsynthetic fluids.

The additive is the same for regular and synthetic gear oils. No problem mixing. The synthetic oils themselves have additive packages with conventional oil base.

The D60 needs the LS additive if it is a sure grip. Otherwise, regular gear oil will work fine by itself - like any other rear.

I have been using RedLine gear oil for years with no problems. They are already formulated with limited slip additives.

My Charger has the Dana 60 Trak Lok...is that the same as the sure grip and do I need the additive?

I don't think the trac loc needs the additive because there is no clutch pack or cone but I've never run one.

Track-Lock is a clutch type limited slip differential. It requires the additive.

I recommend Ford Motorsport friction modifier for anything with fiber clutch packs and GM #1052358 limited slip additive for sure-grips that use all steel clutch packs.
