I bought carpet from Dante 2 years ago. It fit well and seems to be of good quality (thick matt and padding). He is also the best Mopar Aftermarket Automotive Distributor I've ever dealt with. Since then, I have decided to change interior colors and just bought Trim Parts carpet at the Mopar Swap Meet in Indy (sorry Dante ). Still have not even opened the box, so the verdict is out on that.

I'm installing a Trim Parts Carpet in my 68 727 auto RR tommorow, I'll let you know how it fits.

OK. Curiosity got the best of me, so I opened the Trim Parts box. Does not feel as thick or heavy, but the heal pad is sewn in and feels strong. Keep in mind, the carpet I bought from Dante has had time to "fluff up". I could not take pictures of Dantes for comparison, because it is presently in a storage unit. Insulation on bottom is thick and carpet is sealed with a glue type substance. Even Ugly Stella thinks she could get lucky on this quality rug. At the Mopar Swap Meet in Indy, a Trim Parts Dealer offered a show special for 100 bucks. I gave him 90 bucks as he was loading the trailer. I checked my reciept from Dante and it didn't say the brand of carpet. I bought it in January of 06 for $121 plus shipping on the Moparts group buy (20% discount). From memory, Dantes seems like better quality, but I think I will still be happy with the Trim Parts carpet.

Quote:
Dante's advertises a 36 oz jute backing but I could find any information as to what the Trim Parts carpet has on it.
According to a sales rep Trim Parts uses a 30 oz jute backing. Yet Summit advertises Trim Parts carpet having a 40 oz padding. I am getting confused here.

yea i'd stay away from trim parts carpet. the fit was very good, except for the transmission tunnel hump it didnt fit too well over that.
go with another brand, thats just my opinion.

I got my samples in from Dante's, Legendary and Trim Parts and after comparing them by looks, feel, and construction it seems like the Trim Parts and Dante's have an edge. However, the samples are small pieces and I have no way of knowing how old they are or how well the overall carpet will be molded for proper fit. Seems to me by reading the comments above that the fit issue is the main complaint on the Trim Parts carpets. Dante's advertises 36oz padding while Trim parts has only 30oz padding (Summit ad is wrong according to factory rep.) I know very little about the ACC carpets at this point so I guess the jury is still out on this decision.
