Rich, I just finished mine yesterday as a matter of fact. I will post pictures tonight of finished parts and original parts. You and all can be the judge. I purchased a quantity of a 3M product that is similar to what was used when woodgraining was in vogue. It is as close a match that I could find. And that was searching high an low and getting many samples. The material even has the proper grain and embellishments in the surface as the original. This is not meant as an ad, so if you like the pics contact me and I can get you what you need......

Nice work Scott

Does the dash/gauge area have woodgrain too?

Are there lighter and darker versions of B body woodgrains (like E bodies)? Cause I have a couple B body consoles that are much darker.

Alkso, did you trim that by HAND?

Rich, Unfortunately, its not available locally or even in the US. I had to purchase a large qty of it to do these and the console pieces. I sent you an Email.

Jim, The original console pieces I have (for a 70 B-Body) are the same color and woodgrain. I have seen some darker… I don’t now if that’s variations from Mopar themselves or a 68-9 to 70 thing. Maybe someone else has the answers on that.

My console pieces are next I will post them when completed with originals.

Yes I cut it by hand and wrapped it around just as the original parts are. Couldn’t drink my coffee that day. I needed a Die Cut Master as yourself to keep my sanity! You have a PM.

Scott

THATS the darker color. So thats a 70?

And Scotts stuff was 68 or 68 which appears to be quite a bit lighter based on the fact that we both have that exact vinyl and it's much lighter than the console Tom at Rocket Resto sent me to use.

Yes, the center looks darker, but notice the edges that are covered by the trim are lighter. A
To some degree it appears sunlight darkens them. Now it may have started out darker, but you need to see low miles indoor kept cars or observe area that are not exposed.

You beat me to it

Jim, My stuff is 70 also. I will say cameras and flash play games with the colors. But if you look on the pictures Rich posted. On the long piece, you can see a color difference on the edges where it is covered. The elements or exposure looks to effect the color as well. But I can say I have about 2 or 3 original sets and all were the same color to a certain extent. My guess is that the pieces Rich posted would be very close as well especially in unexposed areas.

Scott.. I also agree.. pic's were taking with overhead lighting..some with flash and some with out.....the last piece is pretty much what all pieces look like.... Rich

I also noticed one pieces are laid out from left to right..the grain appers to line up with each piece..this would lead me to believe it was stampped out of one continuous piece of vinyl...
