Getting ready to start on a '70 Cuda project that needs ALOT of stuff. Some sheet metal, grille, interior, glass, wiring.... Received my Year One catalog over the weekend and in doing a little price shopping against Paddock, found them to be alot more $$$. Im guessing there are alot of places better to shop for quality products at fair prices. Can you give me a few leads in this area?? Thanks!

While YO can be your onesource shopping, I'd recommend AMD for your sheetmetal needs, a few dealers here, Stefan (member Elitecustombody) or E body products here also, see Mike Ross/BEA parts for the rest, you can't go wrong with these guys,...plus there's Nick's A-Z parts, member also, and Tom, of R/T specialtys, member also for all the hard to find stuff, leave YO for the electrical, and YO exclusive stuff that you might need

If I can't get what I need from a Moparts vendor, I check Paddock parts before going to Year One. Year One has lots of selection, but if Paddock has the same item, it's usually less expensive in my experience.

Jim's

I've looked at some of their stuff and the prices are very high. Is there another reason to avoid them?

Isn't that where the evil witch works ?

(never delt with them, just read all the horror story threads...)

Jim = bad
Jack = good

3 letters and 4 letters, easy to remember I picked up from a thread along the way too

Who was selling the molded carpet kits, shipped in the large boxes (not rolled up)? Are they still doing this?

Last carpet kit I bought was from ACC and they had good customer service (they color matched a sample of my original carpet.)

R/T specialities is good for all the small screws, retainers, and such.

Try Year One for electrical harnesses. I got some electrical harness stuff from another vendor, and one was too short, another had the wrong connectors

I bought reproduction parts off E-bay. A glove box liner, fuel tank, trunk floor (two piece).
The trunk floor did not have the drain holes punched out. I have bought lower quarter patch panels and other parts from Hardens, but that was several years ago.

BE&A seems to have some nice parts, but I have not bought anything from them yet, but I'm making a list for when I have some extra $$$ (maybe if I get a tax return?)

Wow! Am I the only one not to have had a bad experience with Jims?

I dealt with Jim 20 or so years ago.... He was not a real friendly guy but he had what I needed and I never had any problems.

Pay attention to shipping costs, too. Year One charged a LOT for shipping the last few times I bought from them.
I would also recommend Dante's, very nice to deal with and competitive on price, and if you have a question he'll call you back long distance on his dime to help.

I don't have any experience with either of them, but I read a long time ago that the trick was to count the letters - ie. J I M = B A D , and J A C K = G O O D.
