An H code means it is a factory 340 powered a-body car like a duster demon dart valiant 65-69 barracuda. They were the "small" cars of the muscle car era.
An X head was the head that came on the 340 from 68-70 and all of them had 2.02 intake valves, other than valve size it was basically the same as any other 340-360 head built throught 92.
B-bodys were the "mid-size" cars then, they included but were not limited to the chargers, road runners, super B', satalite...
LA is the common small block 64-69 273s 67-91 318s 68-73 340s and 71-92 360s. 318s built before 67 were small blocks but were just called A engines. The A engine was given diferent simpler heads that were also lighter and that is where the L in the LA came from, they were lighter heads and intakes. 318s after 91 and 360s after 92 were again redesighned a little and called magnums.
