This is in regards to a '69 383 plymouth.

Are the areas of the A/C lines shown in pictures painted black or natural from the factory. If black, what gloss?

Mine (original St.Louis '69 RR, 2 original '68 Chargers, original St. Louis '70 Satellite) were natural.

Thanks fellow Moparts members. I appreciate you taking the time to reply and post pictures. Getting the A/C correct and complete is turning out to be more interesting than originally anticipated!

Most of the old pieces I have seen are in fact natural and show signs of age but nut the overall flash rust you would expect to see from an unprotected carbon steel tube. They look to have some kind of plated protection on them but I do not know what type it is.

You are correct....I think in this aspect most of us referred "natural" as being "unpainted"

Here's a question - on a black 69 charger ( no factory blackout behind the grill ) is the condensor painted black before being installed on the line or is it sprayed after its installed with the blackout treatment?

Most I have seen are black on both sides so I would think they were all painted before installed.

Condensers were black. They may have been dipped, and if so, you'll see runs or puddling at whatever was the bottom of the part at the time it was dipped.

Hey check out this back in the day test video of a '69 (440) GTX with A/C, just thought I'd post it as a "FYI" and nothing more.

I spotted something on the right front fender between the door and the wheel, at the 4:18 mark in the '69 GTX video that really made me I remember my first one and I was madder than cr@p when I saw it on my '69 road runner back then....
