I just got a big lot of Nascar 4 speed parts from an old West Coast racer and got a lot of cool parts. Got a couple of aluminum cases, gears, aluminum tailshafts etc.

My problem is as I was putting the stuff together I found out they were a mix of red and purple stripe gears. I need one 27 tooth second gear part number 2892636 to put one tranny together and a red stripe cluster part number 2801155 with tooth counts 16, 22, 26, and 27 to put a another one together.

Anybody know a source to get the second gear and a red stripe cluster? Want to be able to put a couple of complete transmissions together. Already tried Brewer's and waiting to hear back from Passon, any other suggestions? Thanks!

Looking for other NASCAR 4 speed parts if anybody has any as well.

Post the numbers on the cases for me would you. I have an alum case tranny in my AAR that I posted about last week. I would like to compare numbers. We found the case number in an old 74 Petty book, but the tailhousing casting number did not come up. My tail is a two mount housing.

Pat McKinney was in my garage about 20 minutes ago. He restored one of the #22 Alison Daytona's, one of the 71 Petty Road Runner's and is THE creator of the Joe Dirt Daytona. Actually Pat ended up rolling the fenders in my 68 Cuda.

I asked him about your trans. He's never ran across a NASCAR trans that was sprayed iron to be metalic. He's is very knowledgable on his Mopar NASCAR stuff.

I was showing him a few pictures of the race car shell that Dick Ross bought at Spring Fling 2003 that was "advertised" as a kit car. I was actually a 68-70 Winston Cup car from all of the little nuauces that Pat pointed oit in only 5 pictures I had.

BTW, Dick Ross knew it was a Cup car when he bought it. I think he now has narrowed down the group of possible drivers. I think Dick bought the car for like under $2K.
