e-85 is far from race gas. the thing is that a low compression edelbrock headed small block with a turbo would run 9.50s or even faster with out a lot of work as well. a pump gas n/a small block that runs deep into the nines is a bad a$$ ride no doubt about it, but I think you can go faster cheaper with a turbo

I totally agree, i'm just a simple clean kinda guy that doesnt like alot of stuff going on in an engine bay, plus a mid 9sec Street car is way more impressive then a mid 9sec turbo street car!!

i'm not doubting you have a nice fast car there but give more info such as weight, displacement and such. generally speaking just about any turbo setup is going to outrun a naturally aspirated one and have better manners.

No doubt a bad bad ride..... plumb in a turbo and watch 175 mph show up on the timing board, and 461 cubes is not a "small" block.....

again it really looks like a clean ride and certainly goes fast as well. been a long, long time since i messed with "small" blocks but at 461" it's a little on the large size isn't it? not knowing much about them these days i would think something of that caliber comes with a bit of a price tag. seriously...not harping on your car just that turbochargers do wonders in the right hands. properly setup you don't need a lot of displacement, high dollar heads, valvetrain or compression. as long as the engine is up to it cranking up the manifold pressure will really open your eyes. i'm a little bias towards turbos though, the most fun i ever had racing was on this

I love my car, but there was a dude on here who did some turbo stuff to a bone stock 318 dart. It runs faster than my car, with way less money.

I plan on doing a turbo for my 74 3/4 ton. I have a 400BB (7.5:1 comp) that is a low miler than purrs. I figure work out the plumbing, and it'll be a monster in no time.

Ok here we go turbos are not cheap they are a nitemare to plum the headers alone are 2000 dollars if you do them right! And no you cant make big power without good parts! It takes big RPM to get turbos to make boost and you are not going to do this with stock rods and pistons. If you do it wont live long so dollar for dollar a good n/a over a stock bottom end turbo motor makes good sence for someone wanting to race or go fast on a budget!!

Not true. 2000 dollars for headers? Who does your work? You might wanna shop around.

And just how much does an Indy headed 461 cubic inch small block cost nowadays? 10,12,15,18 grand? Maybe you can, but the majority of people cant just drop that much on a motor. There are 550 dollar turbos on 360" motors running mid 8's on 10 inch tires. To me, that is impressive.

As has always been the case, most Mopar guys are scared to "step outside the box" and come to the "dark side"
