Many things come into play as far as oil pressure varying, bearing clearances, rocker arms and shafts, gauge type and some others that I'm not thinking of. On the gauge some of the manual gauges will respond much quicker if you use a larger pressure line, some don't due to having a vary small restrictor in them. I had one amnual gauge in one of my old bracket cars that I used a 1/4 preesue line to the Stewart Warner 2 5/8 faced gauge and it responded like a tachometer, especially when the oil was warm
