Just put in a new TPS into my 99 dodge Ram 2500 w/V10. It fixed the convertor lock/unlock problem during cruise, but now the thing has super high shift points, like about 4K. Is there some kind of adjustment? Didn't look like it, seems like you just bolt it on and go, but maybe not. Thanks for any input!

Don't know specifically on that one, but often times there is enough slop in the bolt holes to allow a small amount of adjustment. Yours would appear to be reading high, causing high upshifts, so you could try loosening it, then rotating it the same direction as the throttle shaft rotates, hold it tight, and then tighten the bolts and go drive to see if that made any difference.

Any chance you inadvertently messed up the kick down while you were in there?

You needed to program the sensor after install. I did mine this morning. You unhook the neg battery terminals for 1/2 hr, leave the key on to drain any capicitors. Put parking brake on, Then after 1/2hr, hook up the battery terminals, turn the key to the "run" position (NOT start postition), and SLOWLY press the gas pedal to the floor & SLOWLY release it back. Release parking brake & start the truck. It should be programmed correctly. CHeck out this cummins site www.cumminsforum.com

Try adjusting the tv cable. Cable should move exactly same time as tb blades. It should be in spec range by just bolting on the tps. Only other thing I can think of is the tab that goes into the tps is on the wrong side of the little triangle tabs inside the tps. Do you have a multimeter to test the tps? Pierce middle wire, other lead on a ground. Should be no more that .75V DC.If not, return it.

For the JTEC pcm to adjust to the new tps, all you need to do is turn the ignition on/engine off, then turn the ignition back off.

UPDATE, I did all the above except measure voltage. I put the old TPS in and it acted the same way. So I did a closer inspection of the tv cable, went down and looked at the tranny side of it, poked at the lever, and boing it went back. So then I knew what the problem was, sprayed WD40 on everything and worked it, all is fine now.
Thanks for the info!
