I would shoot for a 28 x 8 or 9 x 15, no more width than 9 and try and stay as close to 28 inch as you can. I don't know what is available in a 26, only go there if you can find a soft sidewall slick. Try and find an 8 or 9 inch rim, M/T makes a 28 x 9 x 15. Running the 7 inch rim may force you to run more air pressure to keep the rear end stable, and won't hook quite as well as an 8inch rim.

What kind of car? Slicks or drag radials? I know a 28x9 slick would work on those wheels and should fit under most b-bodies
The car is a 69 road runner. The tires I have on it that ran 13.04 @ 110mph were p285/70r15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A street/all season tires. These tires are 30.7" tall. I want to get a set of slicks for the car,but I don't really know what works best.I am GREEN when it comes to drag racing.I have an extra pair of 15x7 steelies here and thought they would be good to mount some slicks on. I would like to have the tallest tire possible because I like the looks, and I thought that the smaller the tire in circumference, the slower the speed. That's why I did not go with a p275/60r15, which is 28 inches tall.Am I correct in this? My goal is to have my car get into the low twelves.I can tell you my engine combo on request. What do you all suggest?
Ok, so whats your engine combo?

383 zero decked,906 heads(cc'd to.78,2.14/1.81 valves)TRW Power-forged 12.5-1 HEAVY dome pistons, rods machined (free floating,w/oil hole in top) 3x2 intake w/vacuum holleys(light vacuum springs)mallory unilite w/msd 6al,hi volume oil pump with 8 qt. pan,Mopar 509 cam,Crane "gold" adjustable rockers & larger pushrods.Oil restrictors in place to heads I know the build is very old school, but I was on a low budget and there are'nt many options for pistons out there for 383's without spending more than my budget allowed.
