Can this be done and what controls the lockup and overdrive?

I am assuming there would be some vac or pressure switches of some sort and I would turn od on/off with a button, but I would like to hear from someone who knows for sure.

Reason I have decided to do this is because I have absolutely had it with the electronic governor. Complete junk it is. Third trans, third sensor and solenoid and still giving me codes and putting the thing into limp. I'm furious to say the least, and I want the computer out of my transmission for good.

I havent driven the truck so the trans is fine as I parked it right after the last limp code, but I am putting a stroked smallblock in front of this and want to make sure it's solid. The trans is fresh with all good parts in it.

Any help along with any good info resources would be awesome.
