Hey Adam.....if you buy it from us over the phone and not threw E-Bay I will give you another $25 off.....Because we dont have to pay the E-bay fee's then so I can pass that on to you....This $599 with FREE s/h is already a pretty killer deal compared to a Holley HP out of the mags... ..Jesse @ BIGS!!

i had a similar build in mine but with 4.30 gears and the car would have liked more convertor than the 3K stall so i feel a 4500rpm would have been better.mine liked the top end rpm.[6800 to 7000 gained 3 mph 113/12.30 et]i would think about advancing the cam also depending on where it is installed.[104 ICL]
nice car.mine is a satellite also.

Well I took your advice and tore the motor down, Found a broken lifter, I have a new question, since this was a Purple shaft cam and lifter set up, Can I replace the one bad lifter with a stock lifter from the parts store? Also ordered my carb from Jessie at Bigs and waiting for it to come in.

Seems like you should be able to go with a stock replacement lifter.

The motor in the coronet started life as a 500" crate motor, same one you have. The guy who built the car immediately changed out the heads for eddie RPMs and the cam for a comp XE294H, .519/.526 lift, 250/256 @.050, 110 LS cam.

With that set-up, with 31" tire, 4.30's, 9.5" PTC that flashed 4200 it went a best of 11.49 @ 118. Was running a 950hp carb.

Since you have it apart, cc the heads and calc the actually CR, 'cause as far as those pistons are in the hole, I think 9:1 is pretty optimistic marketing on MP's part.

All that's left of the crate motor for me now is the block, crank and rods. Brian (ou812/IMM) built me a new mill last year with victor heads, roller cam and Ross slugs, 13:1.

I've still got the comp cam and lifters if you want to replace the 509. Drop me a pm if interested.

I have an Aussie Charger with a stroker 440(496ci)& 4-speed. Have Stock Stealth Heads,1:7/8" Headers,Comp Cams 294S(248@050)110 lobe centers,Wiend Xcelerator Manifold,10:1 Comp: 193 psi cranking pressure running on 96 oct: pump gas.
Have 2:75 gears out back & with myself & fuel on board it weighs in at 4100lbs & does 12:00@118+mph with an 850 Holley & with a 650 Holley does 12:3@116mph 1/4 mile.
Now,for the record,I run the 650 all the time on the street & it is just awesome. Pulls 6500 in 1st & 2nd,although it is starting to lay down about 5800rpm. What I'm getting at is the 650 Holley will run on the stroker.
Oh! & I also went on a chassis dyno & the 850 made 419 horse-power at the wheels & the 650 made 406 horse-power. The only other factor was, the torque on the 850 climbed more straight up.
Cheers, Mike in New Zealand.
