Most epoxies will patch fairly well. For building up
material for something exotic, TIG it.

They have aluminum specific epoxies but the temp limit dry was only 250...

have you checked out the alumaloy rod on youtube ,it shows them welding an ear back on a transmission and repairing a hole in an aluminum can ,supposed to be tougher than aluminum when you are done ,you can buy it from ebay or eastwood , ...easy to use ,just a propane torch ,might be perfect for something like that /// good luck
