This morning when starting my truck, water started coming out of the second header bolt from the front on the drivers side. I was told that a water jacket is behind there and to drain water, seal bolt and reinstall. Any suggestions? Thanks for the info on leaks, definitely appreciated.

Same thind happened to my 440. Drain until completely dry and use sealer on bolt. It will fix it.

they use studs or bolt depending on what you run for exhast..mannys,headers,ect.

they are all in the water jackets, drain, remove bolt/stud seal with permatex copper and install, let cure over night

use liquid teflon, rtv, antiseize or the like to seal them

if they are studs and dont want to come out, heat with torch till they glow red and spray some JB Blaster to cool,it will wick into the treds and will come out when still hot

hope none break so easy does it on the R&R of them

there are 12 of them, you should seal all 12 this time around if they have not been done the first time,IMHO

Headers/bolts I'm assuming. For the one that is leaking I'd get an oe type stud (has the unmachined shoulder in the middle)and install it in the head w sealer & trim the outer (fine) threaded portion so there's just enough threads left for the nut to fit flush (dependant on the thickness of the flange and your choice of header gasket/sealer).

If it has hooker headers on it, you can't put a stud in that spot, the tube comes back over top of the bolt. You have to start a header bolt in that one (2nd from front, drivers side) and slide header over it. Or use a really short bolt. Put red, high temp RTV on threads first.
