The Nostalgia Super Stock National Association announces Opel Engineering has agreed to become the title sponsor for a new feature race within a race - The F/X Shootout presented by Opel Engineering - during the fifth annual Dave Duell Classic Nostalgia Super Stock Nationals September 10-12, 2010 at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Illinois as part of the long-time Monster Mopar Weekend event.

Opel Engineering, based in the Chicago metro area (Streamwood, Illinois), is a full service automotive machine shop which specializes in design, component supply, machine work and dynamometer testing for racing engines. In addition, Opel Engineering is a dealer for products of Indy Cylinder Head, also a Dave Duell Classic event sponsor.

Four of the quickest NSS cars currently competing in the sport, including Paul Habura’s ‘Keeping the Faith’ 1963 Plymouth, John Grinwald’s ‘Asphalt Elephant’ 1962 Dodge, Len Grimsley Jr.’s ‘Fire and Faith’ 1964 Plymouth and Rich Berlisk’s ‘Asphalt Angel’ 1963 Plymouth, use design and machine work by Opel Engineering.

In addition to the established event purse, Opel Engineering will provide a total of $1,500 for F/X contestants during Saturday’s class eliminations, with $1,000 going to the winner, $300 to the runner-up and $100 each to the non-advancing semi-finalists.

The NSSNA welcomes Opel Engineering as an associate with the best NSS event in the sport and looks forward to maintaining a long and productive relationship.

This is going to be lots of fun. Last year at Monster Mopar we had 13 FX NSS cars and they put on a great show. This year will be even better.
