27 roadster pickup its a ford but mopar powered
440 with six pack internals modified six pack tunnel ram with afb's drives and stops incredible runs 7's 1/8 mile on ice in winter ,takes corners like they are not even there.
real all purpose HOT ROD I drive it everywhere all sumer drag race in the winter and zero maintanence built it from stuff I had laying around all used parts other than the steel to build the frame and suspension I do have time in making it all work together right but fun per dollar you can not beat it.
weathered steel and no paint but not a unsafe cobbeled "rat rod" poorly constructed rat's give a bad rep. to properly built cars.
Not a fan of Circus cars..........

Very interesting collection of "alternative rods"! Definitely some out of the box thinking involved. Thanks for posting .

My "rat" truck... '48 Ford F1, chopped 7" and fully channeled on a custom 2x3 frame, Mustang II front end, 350/350 drive train from a '77 Nova, 4-wheel disc brakes, etc... All the lights work (including signals), windows are operational, and it has seat belts! The front "bumpers" are Mopar cams. And soon to be added (sometime this week...) Even won my first plaque at the first show I entered it in earlier today!

the term RAT ROD defiantly can mean different thing to many people. we called my sons project a rat rod but to us that meant using what we had around here to get a car on the road, on a budget. a true traditionalist would not like what we used and even the rat rod guys would probably look down on it . BUT we did not care who DID or DID NOT like it he built to have fun and he did just that this is his 36 chevy cab on a dodge D50 chassis, with a 400ci BB mopar and stock D50 rearend. some column we had around here. some side pipe we had here also. had about $1,200.00 in to it in total he did not skimp on brakes or steering and made it as safe as a car like this could be Ron...

Yes the term RatRod is tossed around all the time now. I consider several pics above to be Hotrods. Im picky on what yrs can be called a RatRod also. For instance a 49 Ford car I do NOT consider eligible to very called a RatRod But a 52 Ford pickup can be. BUT to each their own aswell! Pick up a RatRod Magazine They'd love your boys truck. They build with what they have. I met a few of the guys at fastback66's place last summer. Their from Canada and Drove their RatRods clear down to Waverly Nebraska.
