Between a rock & a hard place
Question before I start tearing into my latest project : First, let me say I know the backing plates between a 7 1/4 and 8 3/4 are different. But...

I have all new brakes on a car that has a 7 1/4 rear, but will swapping for an 8 3/4. Just curious if all those new brake parts can be used on the 8 3/4 with the correct backing plates.

One would assume that other than the backing plates, 10x2.5 drums brake assemblies had all the same parts...

Thanks

If you have the aftermarket axles then yes the brakes from a 7 1/4 rear from an 80's fifth avenue will work. Done it. Actually now those brakes are on my buddies Dana 60 in his Dart, now.
