I made them just like that..been in my car for years!
Mine are the same also. My brothers car had the thin Direct Connection ones and after years of abuse the holes started to get out of round/sloppy. He had to weld plates on the sides to fix them.

3/16 is about perfect, not crazy heavy and plenty strong....Those will work. But weight is always a factor I consider. But you know you wont be bending them LOL Nice work BTW ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)

I had scraps laying around and I assumed they were 1/8ish not 3/16.Can tell I don't work with metal much and didn't pay attention in math class lol. I thought they were kind of heavy so I found the MP ones and yup overkill ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/1343795-scratchchin.gif)

Ok , nice job of fabrication. For those concerned about wallowing out the holes in 1/8", a welded steel 1/8" flat washers before using solves that issue. And to the OP, a number of correctly positioned lightening holes would get the weight back down, and maybe look trick for the Moparts Wow crowd. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif)
Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

Like this doesn't it make you say WOW ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)
"correctly" placed holes should spell "jerk" , OK you got me on that one ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bawling.gif)
PS don't fall for the trap I'm setting , because my next post will get this locked
Ha Ha I didn't even noticed that I am not the spelling police.
My spelling is so bad sometimes even spell check can't understand what the heck I'm trying to write ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh2.gif)

I do it like that intensionaly (sp) make the holes very long and then mount thick washers. then take to wheel alignment shop and adjust it then weld the washers to the boxes where its perfect.
