Just trying to start trouble.LOL.

here's 2 in our family. Dad bought the convertible in 1964 and the hardtop in '68. the hardtop was a race car most if it's life.

theres a lot of Pontiac guys Ron....

Yes you are right as I did not mean to not mention Pontiac as they had some very stout cars in the 62 and 65 years. But it still seems like more Mopars then most. I just figured there is more Mopars then others because the Mopars run so good that everyone wanted one.

Oh by the way hardtops rule. Ron

And he brings the vert out every Friday and Saturday. The red hardtop comes out but not every weekend like the vert. But the red one is a little nastier then the vert. Both cool cars indeed. Ron

Our cars have a lot more versatility and availabilty for powertrains than most of the others.

440/Hemi base blocks/cranks and parts are readily available and it's easy to put one in any 62-5 Mopar with minimal hassle.

427 Ford Side oilers don't exactly grow on trees and motors like 421 Pontiacs aren't plentiful either. Chevy wasn't really in the game....

The Ford T-bolts require a lot of surgery and cramming of the motor to get it to fit properly. Not so with our Mopars!

I can build a cross-ram equipped cast crank 440 that looks every bit the part for a lot less $ than a competitive motor from another brand!

I asked around about doing this a few years back. It was deemed too expensive to do.

After picking up the 15x8's that are going on the back of mine aluminum would be a welcome change! Those steelies are HEAVY!

Edit: I just weighed one in the shop. 27 lbs. to be exact!
