Newport Royals (the base model) could have the 360 too.
Waaaaaaaaaay off...
The 360 was the base engine in 1971 for a Newport .Yes, they could be had with a 383 or a 440.
Who's way off ?

It was very possible to have found this happen. The 360 was officially introduced in 1971 and was available in the c body cars.
Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks.
But: Don't fix it, if it Works!

What I find incredible is how people will argue that a car DOES NOT EXIST and will insist that a car YOU OWNED didn't exist either. Good lord people. NO it was NOT swapped in. YES, the VIN decoded to 360. NO, I don't own the car anymore. Being a stripped down C (ie: not loaded down with options and sound deadener), the 360 was pretty decent in the Newport.
