I'm converting my Coronet from a column shift to a floor console and bought the Shift-R-Arm and Shifter Gate, but haven't installed it yet. Sorry couldn't be any more help.

I have researching this setup also and was going to do a post. To find out if anyone was using the duncan setup and if they liked it. It appears to be a pretty cool setup.

I am using the Duncan Shifter Gate in my '69 Barracuda with factory console and floor shifter.

Shift Gate is a nice inexpensive modification. Instalation is easy. After removing console and shift handle, just drill out 2 rivits and remove factory the gate. Replace it with the Duncan unit. It is held in by 2 screws that replace the rivits.

Now when shifting manualy from 1st to 2nd just push forward. The shifter will stop in the 2 position. It can not go into drive or neutral. To shift from 2nd to drive you must depress the shift button and push forward. While the button is depressed you can not shift into neutral.

Shifting down from park to other gears requires pressing and releasing the shift button.

The total cost with shipping was $35-$40 IIRC.

The modification can be returned to stock by just screwing the factory shift gate back in place.

I use in a 73 challenger slap stick. reverse pattern. Had to play a little with the file.
Also had to stretch the spring for the push button.
You have to push the button to shift from 2nd to 3rd.

Can be a little tricky to shift into park.
(perhaps a little more filing of the gate is in order)

I am getting used to the reverse pattern and
really like it. pulling back seems more natural than pushing forward.

For the money you can't go wrong.

I've got one of these around. Tried it my 69 Charger at the time. Didn't care for it. Filed on it a bit trying to get it to operate smoother to no avail.

Duncan sent me my money back, so no complaints. Just didn't work for me.

Ultimately installed a 5 speed.

I can fix it... my old man is a television repairman.
He's got the ultimate set of tools... I can fix it.

Currently Mopar-less

Have it installed in my 68 Charger. Definetly takes some getting used to. I have the habit of driving with my hand on the shifter which can cause it to drop into 1st when you have it in 2nd, no gate to keep it from doing so. Keep thinking of taking it back out but haven't got around to it, it's been in for a couple of years now.
