I don't see how that the spindles can be wrong. I comapared between the two sides of my truck one side with drop spindle and one side not, and the rotor is sticking up past the upper control arm on the side wth the drop spindle and it is about two inches bellow the upper control arm on the side with the stock spindle so I know that it dropped my truck. The spring is holding it up. Where does every one else get their drop springs from. I can see that I am probbly gonna have to shop somewhere else.

There is a member that posted on here the other day about bolt on lowering kits and he has springs as part of the kit.I know Chisholm discontinued the arms but not sure on springs.I went back with stock springs.

I'm thinking that I want to go another route with this, i like the idea of having the original springs in my truck because I hate the way it drove with cut coils. I know it drives good with the originals so I think I will folow in your tracks and try to find a good set of lower control arms. Can I ask how much drop you got from your lowers?

Im not positive how much drop I got.Now that everything has settled I measure 13" from center of wheel to fender lip.I think Chisholm claimed 2" drop for thier arms.

I have emailed the person on here selling the bolt on lowering kit inquiring about thier lower control arms. I want to thank you for the help. I hate to be the guy who doesn't research his own stuff but it seems that you already had it figured out, so maybe I'll be able to help you on your next prodject as much as you and the others have helped me on this one.

Im not wooried about ride quality at this point. My 73 Clubcab LWB has a 1.5 coils out of it and it rides on the bumpstop bracket till its nice out and Im healed to do so. If you through them out ok. Im going to cut the bumpstop bracket when I have new coils and that way when they are cut if its to low Ill cut 1 coil out of the new ones and go from there. I cut the original ones, other than the bounciness it rides fine. Ive got some saving to do before I can buy the control arms or Dak spindles. Between my wife and I we have 13 Dodges 2are Rc's and None of hers are allowed to be lowered so Im going to do a couple of mine. 2 are parts and one was totaled. #13(Rc) was totaled the day it was bought but thanks to a kind moparts member Ive found another as soon as I can tear some parts off of #13 and make my way down to him Thanks for posting your swap and the pics. Whats the diameter of your tire?

Thats ok. The ones you bought are way off. I posted earlier about my wifes 76. From center of hub to fender lip it was 17.5" Totally stock.

84, it sounds like that guy is really feeding you a line of ****.

My spindles have shipped, but while i was under redoing the exhaust, i noticed im going to need new rubber lines, probably new hardlines, and maybe calipers if the bleeders dont open up, so unfortunatly im going to have to wait a little bit on the swap as i might need to get tierod ends and what not too.

I am most likley just going to get new stock spring and use the spindles, i dont want to go as low as you guys are doing.

Ramblebee, are the '85 truck outer tierod ends the same taper as the dakota ones---what does your little moog book say? If so i may be able to get away with just new adjuster sleeves.

Does it have spring specs too? I thought it was said a 90-93 spring was a touch shorter than would be for 89 and earlier.

I know my ball joints are the same as the dakotas so that is a non issue as of right now.

I think i typed in "dakota spindles" for the search and came up with them. They were not listed were they should have been, i think they were listed under hoods or something like that.

There was a 87-90 set and a 91-96 set--the later model set was cheaper and the ones used in this thread. I dont know what or why there would be a difference, plus the later model set is cheaper too. Mine cost $168 shipped, i should have them in a few days.
