Why does the NHRA list the 1971 340 at 11.8 comp. ratio and all pre 71 340s at the factory 10.5 C.R.? Thanks.

On the south side of Nowhere
68-71 all show the same blueprint specs.

With 4.040" x 3.31" and 4.180" x .028" gasket, I still
come up with 11.839:1

That's not counting .013" additional stroke and
.070" allowable over bore.

It's a possible mis-print on the specs.

those specs were provide by the factory...

also in the old days..LOL...the factory provide the cam specs which had a very long duration..so that anything less was legal.

now nhra only limited the valve lift and does not check duration.

the factory was just trying to give their team racers GOOD specs for their engines.
