Hi guys!
I have a 1974 Dodge Dart and I was wondering how hard it is to replace the heater core? Mine finally gave up and needs to be replaced.
Thanks

Not really hadr. The hardest part is getting the little clips off that hold the boxes together.I did the 73 we had in about and hour. Its been probally 10 years since I did it.Rocky

Simple. There's 2-3 studs from the back of the heater box that go through the firewall into the engine bay - take the nuts off of them from the engine compartment. Then, reach up in the vent hole and undo the nut holding the box from above. Pull it out a bit and undo the clips and remove the cables. Then, pop off the clips that hold the 2 halves of the box together. Use a screwdriver and they will pop right off. After that take out the old core, put in the new.

Air and Non Air are completely different.

Non air, you can remove the whole box where the air cars you can remove just the heater box from the evap box. Either way, the heater cores are different too.
