so i put in my proparts headers today in my 68 bcuda with a 440 and victor heads. the pass side contacs the torsion bar for about an inch. its already been "clearanced" a little bit. but my thought is this, if i could remove the t-bar then i'd have more room for my fuel line and not be hitting the bar that is no longer there. so here is where the question comes in. remember im on a tight budget, very tight. i have a set of adjustable coilovers from my honda car, these are exrta. i was wondering if i could remove the t bar and brace the shock tower and run the honda coilover. i could buy a cheap set of heavy duty srpings (not honda) and go with that. but im questioning if the spring perch would hold the wt. its a very similar shock design from the back of a civic to the front of my cuda. c lose length too. this is more of a race car than a street car so im not super concered with how it'd ride on the street. if i brace the underside of the shock tower and make a "boot" for the spring to sit in do u think it would work??? any ideas would be greatly apprectaited. thanks guys

Does the car have down bars off the cage to the frame rail? If so you can brace off this, if not you could install some and then brace.

I was referring to inner fender braces as down bars. If this is a dedicated race car why are you going with a bar rather than a cage?
