Did these vans typically come with an 8 3/4 rear and what kind of gearing was normal for these to have? The guy tells me its a 6cy 170 engine with a manual transmission. Did they all have bucket seats? Thats about all he can tell me until he's able to show it to me. He's not sure about the axle or what it is...Thanks guys.

Ask the seller to check the data tag in the drivers door jamb. Here is a sample of one on a 1966 A100.

Thanks Doug, I asked the seller to email me a picture of it to see. I assume the 391 shown on your tag is a gear ratio? Not sure what to look for. Also if it has bucket seats, are 67's desirable for parts or was it the 68's only? I am not to intune with the vans. Im just hoping it has some decent gears and an 8 3/4 under it. Thanks again.

There is a slight difference in the seat back, I forget what year was the transistion. Everything else on the seats is the same. As for parts, all A100's from 64-69 will interchange.

All the slant six vans and trucks I have owned came with 8-3/4 rears and most had 3.91 open gears, a couple had 3.55's. There were two types of bucket seats, I believe they changed for the 1971 model year when the vans were redesigned.

Thanks guys, I will know more about it once he sends me some pics. Just hoping it had a decent set of gears 3:55 or 3:91 with a suregrip but thats probably not going to happen. Most likely an open rear as stated. And my luck it's probably a 741 case. Based on his asking price, probably not worth me buying in hopes to get a good rear out of it. Ill keep you all posted. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

All seats are buckets.
All rear gears are 741 case.
Gear ratios were 3.23, 3.55, 3.91.

Are all A100's straight axles and is the track/width close to an A-body?

All A100s are staright axle, and they are wider than an A body.
