Call me a little dumb but if the plastic strip on the back of the rear glass gasket is missing will there be an issue with possible glass coming out? In other words will the glass come out of the back door if this plastic strip is not in the glass gasket. It just looks like a trim piece that is on the outside but is it more?

Eighties style ramcharger? The glass should come out if the plastic stuff is completely removed. It's kindof a "T" shaped plastic chrome thing. I recall installing a new one on one of my ramchargers because all the chrome was cooked off the plastic.
