On my car I have a VON that begins with the letter R (R#####) and I was told that designates it a public relations car.

What exactly is a public relations car? Was it a dealer demo or something?

If you have a broadcast sheet for it, what are the Y codes at the top right?

Ah.... back to the broadcast sheet thing.... I found one under the rear seat back in '88 and gave it to my parents to save but of course when I asked about it back over a yr ago they don't seem to know where it has gone. I haven't had a chance to check the other places you mention on your website where another one might be hiding in the car.

So know way to get an idea what a public relations car was without the Y codes? or what type of public relation car it was?

It could be Y22 - Executive lease car.

Y28 - Public relations.

Public relations cars were used for any of multiple things, road tests, print ads, tv commercials, etc.

It may have more broadcast sheets in it, have you looked?

I've also seen a "R" VON '71 'Cuda with a Y15 - "direct sale" on the b'cast sheet.

Nope haven't had a chance to check other places, I didn't know there could be more then one in a car until about a yr or so ago and she has been in storage for many yrs. I can't really go check cause she is stored a long way from me.

Besides the VON the only other thing I have found out about the car that seems a bit unique is it has P5X9 interior which doesn't seem like a very common option. Butterscotch71 tracks as many '71 and '72 (mostly Road Runners) cars as he can and I think he said he only has 1 or 2 other '71 GTXs that has that interior for what he has recorded.

The car is a Windsor car.

Direct sale - Customer ordered car & requested to pick it up at the assembly plant vs. a dealership.

I was still only in high school at the time and hoped they would keep it in their file cabinet... next time I'm a teenager I will know better.
