The parts book doesn't make any distinction for the AAR, it uses the same 7290 as a 340-4.

I do not have the numbers memorized, but AAR & T/A driveshafts use the small u-joint in the front & the large one in the rear.

This has come up before, but my AAR has the same size joint front and rear.

What is the code for it on your broadcast sheet if you have it?

Barry,
Do these drive shaft numbers look correct?
I guessed at the first 4 numbers.

AAR - 2883769
T/A - 2883782

Yep, correct on both.

My 70-71 parts book shows both numbers, but the only u-joint referrenced for them is the 7260.

This is odd.

My 1970 318 barracuda had the big & little driveshaft also, but there is not a referrence in the parts book that spells out two different u-joints that I can find?

Mistake in the book?

Is it shown in a different revision?

Or am I just missing a connection somewhere?

I have seen the big & little combinaion in every A53 E-body I have checked.

Barry,
Checkout the length difference between the drive shafts.

The ones for the T/A and AAR are .250" longer than their counterparts.

AAR - 43.85" - 7290
Cuda - 43.60" - 7290

T/A - 45.85" - 7290
R/T - 45.60" - 7290

The 7260 u-joint on one end could explain the additional length.
