Just found this BAD looking '68 Barracuda drag car! Does anyone remember or know of it? It's past? Not much left of the original car as far as #'s. Inner fenders gone, rad support gone, all original interior gone, has drag seat in it, and a fibre glass tilt front end!.........Any help posting pics?????????????

I'm the CARETAKER of Weinstats '69 440 'cuda registry and have 104 of the 360 cars to date. 84 fastbacks/20 coupes. Always looking for new(REAL M-code) '69 440 'cudas to add to the registry so drop me a note if any are found or known. This isn't a publicly released registry. Thanks, Dave

This car sounds like a gasser type build. The Nasty Nick Cuda I spoke of was a touring funny car match racer.Question on posting a pic? Ask.

Mike, you're thinking of "Nasty Nick" Varough from Cleveland who ran a Cougar, (not 'Cuda), AA/FC. He later campaigned a '73 Satellite FC, as well.

The "Gold Coast Duster" was another AA/FC run by Pete Miner and Don Nieves out of Palm Beach, Florida, (hence the name), who also ran a '76 Dodge Charger. However, they were never affiliated in any way with Nick Varough.

Actually, "Nasty Nick" Varough did run a gold exterior/gold interior 70'ish Cuda FC for a short period of time after the Cougar - rumoured to be an ex-Snake car but ???? I'll have to see if I can find the pic. -- Reed in Neb.

Cool car, I think it should be renamed "Neglected Nick".

It would be a cool vintage drag car with a tilt front end restored to 70's specs. I'm so tired of the stock look. If you get this car do a retro theme!!!

Well, yes i have purchased it. It's just soooo bad looking. After washing it you can still read a time of 9.86 that's etched into the plexi-glass side window! The sticker below the 2 latches for the tilt hood is for S&M Performance motor shop in Jersey City, NJ. I'll get some "washed up" pics of it sometime and some of the decal close ups on the car.......Any clue as to what the initials JVP on the fender is?

Wow. I remember Manhattan Speed. They were in my neighborhood. I knew the shop owners very well, but never seen that car.
There was a 60's Cuda that was running with Ronnie Lyles and the Mutt Brothers though. It was lightened to the max. Not sure if that may be the car.

Nasty Nick ran 9.70's with a best of 9.59! I've talked with the original owner ans he did all his own work. Came up with his own tricks in the motor. Ended up moving the motor back 10".

The original owners name is Nick Pizzillo. He is one of my customers and is still involved with hot rods. Hi Nick.

Cool conversation piece. Just a little too big to fit in a living room as a coffee table.
