Is there any difference in oil pans for stock Small Block applications? I have a '65 Valiant with a '87 318 and the drag link is hitting the oil pan on the drivers side on tight left turns. It is the dropped link. The car has late "A" disc brakes up front if that matters. Avoiding tight left turns is not an option.

I would think so but the dent is also worn to the point of a hole in the pan. It is very thin at that point. I know a new oil pan is in my future so I have to find out just how much clearance the crank throws have at that point. I am wondering if the '73 up disc brake spindles allow more side to side travel?

Autocuda; Which side did you take the picture from? My pan has a relief on the passenger side but none on the drivers side.

I have a 65 Dart w 74 A discs & the dropped link/64-66 273 stock mts and a '83 318 & no issues. Since my setup is identical to yours I'll take a look & see if I see anything that may benefit you.

That's passenger side under the idler arm.
There is a little indent on the drivers side above the center link.

Robert, is there any kind of a bump stop or travel limiter on your lower ball joint brackets? Mine has this little "nub" on the bracket that may be intended as a travel limiter but it ends up being a good inch away from contacting the "A" arm when the drag link is in contact with the pan. My pan has no indentation on the drivers side, just a small square spot for a magnet in the oil pan.
