Any of you guys know how to decode these things?

Example:

it gives me:
Engine
37-38
62

So since it's a RM23H Road Runner I looked up E62 and it's a 383 HP, but what does 37-38 mean?

But, when I look at the Sure Grip option:

Sure Grip
408
8

I look at 408 which specifies Sure Grip, but what does 8 mean?

Or this:

Trans
39
3

How do you decode this? It's in line after Engine (32-34 37-38 39?) What do those numbers in numerical order refer to? What does the stamped number, in this case 3, refer to.

It appears under the part/option/trim whatever, there are numbers increasing in numerical order, ex. 509 510 511 512 514 515 516 etc in these cases it's lighting options. What do those mean throughout the build sheet? What does the number below it thats stamped/typed mean?

Some are in the 100's, some in the 10's, like 52 53 54 55 56 etc.

Also, at the bottom of the sheet it has this:

Engine Trans Axle Pinion Wheel etc etc
760 100 244 32 16B

How do you decode these also?

I have tons of questions on this but maybe learning these will help. Thanks for any help

Ok, I think I figured this out:

ex:

Radio
42
1

This would mean look in the 42? series and find 421 to see what kind of radio.

HD Brakes
47
8

This would be look in the 47? series and find 478

Is that correct?

The triple digits, 509, 511, 512 etc you look up just by thoe numbers, but I still don't understand what the typed number below it is.

Ex:

Glove Box Lock
509
9

I look up 509, it says glove box lock, ok, but what does the 9 specify? Maybe color?

Ex:

Turn Ind/Fender hood
517
7

Again, I look up 517, see the turn signal option but what does the 7 under it mean? Surely it isn't color here, how could it for a turn signal?

Another thing that's weird:

Tires
43-44
46

So this tells me look up 46 and I find F70-14 Red Streak Tires

But, it also has this:

Hub Caps/Wheel Covers
58
1

So I look up 581 and find 15 inch deluxe wheel cover.

How can there be a 15" wheel cover on tires specified for 14" wheels???

I'm still clueless on the bottom of the sheet with the codes I listen in my original post

Here's some more at the bottom:

Wheel Covers
10

Torsion Bar
Left Right
779 778

Rear Springs
Left Right
212 212

Clutch and Brake Bracket
25

Front Brake
25

Steering Wheel and Horn Ring
12F

Steering Column
35F

Stub Frame
16

Engine Fan
24

Engine Fan Spacer
32

Rad. Inlet Hose
01

Rad Outlet Hose
?1

Carburetor
25

Carb Choke
45

F G H J K L M N
2|3 (this is under the N, rest are blank)

Vac. Fit
25

Sway Bar
5

Rad.
43

P Q R S T

under Q is Cap Idle Label with 44 under it

Under R is 5|4

Thanks for any and all help.

Ex:

Turn Ind/Fender hood
517
7

Again, I look up 517, see the turn signal option but what does the 7 under it mean? Surely it isn't color here, how could it for a turn signal? Same thing. It's a 'yes' or 'no' option.

I'm still clueless on the bottom of the sheet with the codes I listen in my original post

Here's some more at the bottom:

Wheel Covers
10 The last two digits of the part number for that specific entry. In this case, 10 means Part number 2823010

Torsion Bar
Left Right
779 778 last three digits of part number. One for left and one for right

Rear Springs
Left Right
212 212 last three digits of part number. One for left and one for right

Clutch and Brake Bracket
25 The last two digits of the asasembly number for that specific entry.

Front Brake
25 The last two digits of the part assembly for that specific entry.

Steering Wheel and Horn Ring
12F part number and color F=green

Steering Column
35F Assembly code and color

Stub Frame
16 Assembgly code

Engine Fan
24 The last two digits of the part number for that specific entry.

Engine Fan Spacer
32 The last two digits of the part number for that specific entry.

Rad. Inlet Hose
01 The last two digits of the part number for that specific entry.

Rad Outlet Hose
?1 The last two digits of the part number for that specific entry.

Carburetor
25 The last two digits of the part number for that specific entry.

Carb Choke
45 The last two digits of the part number for that specific entry.

F G H J K L M N
2|3 (this is under the N, rest are blank)

Vac. Fit
25 The last two digits of the part number for that specific entry.

Sway Bar
5

Rad.
43 The last two digits of the part number for that specific entry.

P Q R S T

under Q is Cap Idle Label with 44 under it the last two digits of the part number for the label that goes under the hood of the car showing the idle specs

Under R is 5|4 Tire label???

Thanks for any and all help.

Thank you so much for the help. I never knew the bottomw codes on the sheet were the last digits of the part number.

Where can I go to look up the full part numbers to see what it actually had, for example, the deluxe wheel covers? How do I know if it had a Hurst Shifter or just a plain Mopar one shifter is gone)?

A parts book is a good place to start but some PNs were changed with parts book revisions. It's always a good idea to check a couple of credible sources and cross reference PNs to see if a certain part was superceeded.

The shifter PN would not be listed on the BS but there is some information out there that indicates approximate change over date.
