Has anyone here used the products?

How did they work out for you?

Are they ok to deal with?

They have an area for a discount coupon... Anyone know where to get the code?

Is there anywhere else to buy from?

Thanks

They did frame connectors, torque boxes and some tricky rust repair caused by a vinyl roof on a California car... above front windshield, around back window and trunk floor. The parts and metal work were good quality. They were fine to work with if a little slow on this complicated project. My car - a Plum Crazy Challenger - used to be on their web gallery and may still be there.

The car gets driven and sees rain. No problems so far after 4-5 years.

I have used their frame rails, torque boxes, and connectors on my 67 Barracuda project. There are two ways you can use the frame rails. First, you cut support your car and cut the frame rail about 1" from where it is welded to the body all along the length. This is probably the best way to do it. If I remember correctly, Mopar frame rails are 14 gauge steel and ART frame rails are 13 gauge. You then weld the replacement rails on using the stand tack move tack and then come back and weld between, etc. The second way is just to put the frame rails over your old ones. This is much more troublesome but you don't have to worry about the body flexing out of shape. It is more troublesome because unless you were able to blast and treat the inside of your old rails, they are still rusting and, the ART units are welded on the inside. So when you go to put the new rails over the old ones, there will be a gap unless you grind the welds down. As far as the torque boxes and connectors. No problems. No problems dealing with them either. They are good folks.

I ordered a rear crossmember from Year One thinking it was the factory style. When it arrived it turned out to the the AutoRust one. I didn't really care that much since it is covered up once the bumper is installed.

WHen the shop went to install it they noticed that it was 3/4" too tall. They measured the remains of my origonal and one on an AAR they had in the shop. Both of those x-members measured the same. The AutoRust unit measured 3/4" taller. They had to cut a notch in it so the bumper reinforcing brackets could be installed on the framerails. We called Year One and they put us in contact with AutoRust. THey said they had sold hundreds of those X-members and hadn't had a single complaint about the depth of it. Just an FYI.

It maybe a little hard to see but the bottom lip of the x-member is hanging 3/4" lower than the fraimrail. It is also covering one of the holes in the frame for the bumper reinforcing brackets.
