I've heard the Hoosier DR's are better than others...but no personal experience. They're basically a DOT slick though.

My first pair of D.O.T. Drag Radials were BFG. They were Ok, but I replaced them with P315/60R15 - 30"x11.5”x15” Micky Thompson ET Street D.O.T. Drag Radials.

On my 3,700 lb '71 Charger, the M/T's hook much better/better 60 ft perf.

Both tire brands were similar size/dimensions. I was disappointed with the BFG's, even after much experimentation with tire-pressure, etc.

That said, on other cars, some people and setups seemed to like the BFG's.

Had BFG G force on my hemi challenger, but can't wait to try the 325/50 ET Streets on my 68 stroker barracuda. I've heard the ET Streets hook much better than the BFG's. A friend who ran high 10's in his fox body stang, couldn't hook up well w/ the G Force, switched to the ET streets & hooked so well, it broke his rear end. Would also like to hear other's experiences with both.

Can anyone comment on how many miles one might expect out of some of these DOT soft compounds?

Best hooking=M/T ET street
Longest lasting for street=Nitto(V rating is a plus, they don't squirm or roll under cornering.)
BFG= not great at either but hook well enough on a mild car and will last longer on the street than M/T.
I have run the BFG and the Nitto on my Polara.I prefer the Nitto on the street due to it's stability and better wet weather capability. If it were a serious effort I would run M/T no question.
Key is not to overinflate them while street driving.

The M/T hook well enough that a friend of mine snapped an axle in his Chevelle last week. He was running a 255-60-15.
