63 plymouth was going 10.21 with just indy 440-25 crossram in same air.
i added the indy epoxy inserts and off the trailer 1st a 10.13, then i short shifted to 6000-6100 and it goes 10.04.
put in the new converter and goes 9.978.
car is 3856 lbs.
air was 500+ DA,same as the last few times out.so in my application they do work.

So the inserts gained around 0.08.... I can believe that, good job.

Russ 10.21 to 10.04 is .17 shifting it pretty much the same. ihave shifted the car before around 6000, once in a while shifting it a little higher due to missing the pushbuttons.air DA was a litle worse sunday compared to the 10.21 pass.
going out this weekend to try another 9 second pass. hope air is good or better.

10.21 to 10.13 is .08 ---- then you made other changes. So changing your shift points AND your converter had nothing to do with it? Interesting to say the least So the converter was a waste of time and $$$.

RUSS,i have short shifted the car before with no gains. last pass was 9.97 with new converter.
10.21-10.04 is the true gains with just inserts.

They are supposed to make the intake more like a tunnel ram in a way. It is Supposed to help with puddling of fuel inside the intake. We did back to back tests with them at Norwalk and our gains were different, but maybe it varies with each car.

.... ok.... not sure what your getting at.

Congrats on the 9 second pass if thats what your looking for.

Im just not too convinced that the inserts caused it to speed up. nice fall air. different shifting. converter. Im just not buyin the inserts had that much affect, but I could be wrong. I no what our gains were and I know that the inserts won't be in there next year

But good job chris, glad you finally went a 9 in that car

Casey

Seems like it would be easy enough to prove, take them out w/no other changes and see what it runs. If its back up to 10.2 or so then it was the inserts.

RON, they are 440-1 heads with max wedge size ports, if your looking for a correct max wedege look, its not for you but if you want to make power and get every ounce of hp from your combo then yes the 440-25 intake for you.
it killed me to change drom a original crossram on this car but i'm a et junkie and want every ounce of power i can get.
hope you go for it, your car is killer.

Hi Guys,
I totally agree Ron's car looks great, Chris your running great, Ron needs and intake and Chris just took one off Humm, I think Chris should make Ron a deal and help him out with and intake to get him into the real max wedge look and play let's make a deal! and you guy are both out on the east coast. Just a thought.

I appreciate that Chris. Hopefully after the holidays this year I can have the cash to talk with you about a crossram setup. I want to start building my next eng as soon as I can afford the parts. I am still thinking on CNC'd Eddy heads on the next eng I build for my 63. And thanks Old racer for the kind words. Ron
