Hey Jack, Do you have any of the Roar-N-Hemi that used to race there?? When we started racing at Marion he was there and that car was the BEST wheel stand car out there. He would bring it up and carry them into 2nd and come down easy every pass. He had a powerglide in it I believe. Someone said he has a duster or built a duster and the first time to the track it went on the back bumper and slammed down and busted the car up bad. Do you know what duster this was and have any photos??
I may have 1 or the Roar-N-Hemi but I will have to look. David
Sorry for the poor quality, my scanner does not like Vista, so I had to use my camera.

I have one of Phil's 'Roarin' Hemi' some where. It has the mural of a lion on it. I will look it up and try to scan it with my 'new' scanner I 'think' Santa is bringing! I have been going through old pics for a few days. I am amazed at what I am finding. By the way,,,it was taken at Trails. I am really getting into the old picture thing on here! Also have some of a Hemi Dart from the Mt. Vernon area. Can't remember the owner/driver's name right now, but know that Danny's (Dean) Auto Service was on it. I didn't know Danny when I took the picture, but became friends with him several years later in the dirt track business.

I spoke to Phil Roar at the Mopar Clay City meet this year. He had a 68 Hemi dart that he had just completed. He was not able to make a run because of a problem with the rear brakes. He did say the 67 was sold to a collector in Flordia. I hope he gets the Dart back out again in 2010!! He was having flashback watching Ralphie make wheels up passes in his 67!!
Phil did sell it to a collector in Florida turnkey for a very modest price of 25k. Back in the early 80's when he raced it a bunch it was a legal SS/DA car and it ran 10.0's He was very hard to beat in it.
