What kind of rear tire pressures are you running?
Do the 60 series require more or less pressure than the 70 series? Back in 1969-71, when Super Stock magazine were drag testing the muscle cars, they would inflate the rear tires anywhere from 38 - 45 pounds. Why did they do that? Thanks.

At the grove guys were running from 12 to 40 lbs - no one was using the same pressure...

Inflate to the pressure that gives the best contact patch. I know some guys have run as high as 45 on the rear , only way to know what you need is to do a short burnout and get out an look at the patch , I think I ran 43 in my F70-14 firestones .

For the front you want to overinflate a tad , the less on the ground the less rolling resistance .

We check the foot print and adjust the pressure to get the most rubber on the ground. about 24 pounds is normal with our G60-15's.

There really is no rule of thumb. Find somebody with a similar car and start with what they got.

For the rear, find what works best, start with maximum patch. Once you find the best pressure, don't change it for street driving. For the front, run maybe 28 for street driving, and pump it up to max rated pressure at the track.

i am not sure if this still applies...
but ..i used to drive them with low pressue to loosen up the sidewalls..
put maybe 4-5 slow miles..around the neighbor hood.
then do the air pressure to get the best contact patch routine..
fwiw..
