Yes torque convertor is seated in place ,it has second and drive ,but trys to lock up in reverse and second ,if convertor wasn,t in place i beleive car would try to roll in park

Why would it roll in park? Park has nothing to do with the converter.

I think i figured it out ,I probaly shouldn,t tell this ,but my mistakes are my lessons in life ,i never forget them ,in all this confusion ,i kept messing with rearband ,never paid any attention to kickdown band settings ,tore valvebody apart couldn,t find anything wrong ,kind of frustrated set down and started rereading manual diagones and found my description of problem ,locks or drags ,1 of the areas too look was kickdown band adjustment ,tighten 72 inch pounds ,back off 2 1/2 rounds ,crawled under car and looked ,we had tightened up ,but failed too back off ,i beleive this is my problem ,feel kinda stupid ,but beleive i have found my problem ,enough fun for tonight ,will reassemble tommorrow and try again ,thanks guys

Glad you found it. Happens to us all, especially as you get older. Thanks for posting the solution to your problem! I learn a lot from this board.
