Take a look at the B&M Quicksilver shifter. It is a cable operated shifter with a nice, clean design that won't stick up to high in you console. Summit and Jegs both carry this shifter and you can find them on Ebay as well.

NO...your correct. Accually someone makes a new shift gate plate to install on your origonal Slap Stick mechanism that converts it to the Reverse pattern. EDIT: Found the link. http://www.duncan-motor-sports.com/2.html

For the price you'll pay for a decent new aftermarket shifter, you could likely buy a stock slapstick shifter/mechanisim...
With the floor hump? I dont think so.

50 bucks and no bids.

Seen another one on there for 99 bucks no bids. Keep your eyes open, they pop up and often don't go for much $ these days. Also challenger/cuda will interchange with satellite/roadrunner/charger in those years so the conversion parts are readily available.

I thought someone at one point put up a how-to on modding the slapstick for reverse vb function?? Or am I on crack!?
Yes they make a plate that converts it to reveres pattern. John Cope has them. I tryed that, it worked okay on the street for normal driving but sucked on the track. It would hang up and cause missed shifts when slammed hard on the track. So I took it out and put in a hurst promatic. No more missed shifts on the track. Now Da Bee is happy and I'm happy.

I have a hurst Promatic in my 69 Bee. You will need to remove the original shifter brakets out to make it fit.
That's a nice looking install.

I got mine on E bay. I got the shifter, councel, and the linkage from diferent sellers, and everything all together wasn't much over 200 bucks. I think the shifter and linkage was around 60 bucks plus shipping, if I remember right. I wish that I would have bought the brackets instead of making them myself.
