My goodness, horror stories! Again, the vendors supply inferior parts and we have to buy them because NOS is too expensive or hard to find, and something is better than nothing, so we have to settle for it. We need Mike Ross @ BE/A to make these pads. He does it right! Who makes Lengendary dash pads, as I heard they were the best, though I haven't seen one?

The UR pads are nice as long as you purchase one that uses a metal core (which are the only ones I will sell) ,most vendors only offer the plastic core. They do not fit as nicely as one with a metal core. It requires a core in return

Interesting topic, and I appreciate the feedback, as I have the same questions for 1970 Challenger dashpads.
Last year at the Mopar Nationals, a guy from Legendary told me that they re-sell dashpads from another manufacturer (sorry, I don't remember which), but that they were developing their own. Surprisingly, I have not heard anything since. Anyone know if Legendary has something in the works?
And yes, I think this would be a great opportunity for BE&A/PG. Although the investment is very high for these 'one year only' products, there is certainly already a high demand.
Please keep the feedback coming on the current products!

I bought a `71-4 Barracuda dash pad from Ultimate Rides and it looks fine for my driver although not correct grain. My only complaint was they quote 2-3 weeks delivery but take over three months and then only after calling and complaining a number of times! Their recent ad in MCG has the the gall to claim fast production time-ya right!

I've used a Just Dashes pad in my car. As stated, they are 'puffy' looking, compared to the crispness of the originals. It fit fine, because of the metal inner structure, which they cannibalize from an old OE pad. This would be a must for me. I work for a company that molds vinyl, for similar products. The 70 Challenger pad would be a B&^*^h to make as the OEM was made. The tightness of the corners, the inset logo and the sewing (which meant they molded the vinyl, sewed it, attached the nameplate with a backing plate and then placed it back in a mold) make it a very hard part to get right. I'm sure the original suppliers had a lot of scrap parts. No doubt that is why they changed it in 71. It is also, probably why, the current reproductions have 'softened some parts' to get it to manufacture. I depends on how easily irritated you get. After all, the dash pad is staring you in the face as you sit in the car...mile after mile.

Just Dashes-more like Just Don't.I hate how their pads are puffy and lose all definition, and their colors are off too. There has to be a better way

Now, who do you send your new pad to to replace the VIN tag?
You had better not send out your VIN tag to anyone as they would by law have to destroy it. keep your tag in a safe place and reinstall it on your new pad when you get it with new rivets, which various individuals sell.
