I think I have hit the limits on what I want to do with my Charger and am now considering a different direction. I have a very nice 71 dart mini tubbed and roller. Thinking maybe 511 lowdeck with pro charger and indy heads. Problem is I don't know a thing about them. How does it work? Do you have to keep a water tank full all the time? Can a stock block half filled stand up to this combo? Cost??? What compression to build motor? Any advice would be helpfull. I am a year away from starting an engine combo, but already dreaming. Thanks, JP

Steve Morris at neweraracecraft would be the person to email
With Pro-charger questions.
SMRE would be good too. That's where Steve used to work
Before heading out on his own.

Plan for this car is light weight and race only. Already have one 4260# street strip car, so this one will be under 3000# and shooting for mid 9's. Found a couple articles which helped answer some ?'s. Looks like factory block is out but I don't know that for sure and cannot find a price for one of these kits. Thanks, JP

bigtimeauto!!! That looks amazing. Also like the shoe polish on the windshield. What combo does it take to write a number like that?

depending on what you wanna do a stock block could be used. do a search for "procharged 440" and look at the build engine masters did a few years back. Now in reality that build pulled the pin on the grenade and most parts were at or above what they could handle. I think with a few upgrades you could make that power and more reliably. If you keep a good eye on the tune and don't get greedy (really leanin on it) i beleive stuff will last alot longer

Thanks prochargedhemi. I'll do a little more research, but can anyone give me an idea as to cost? I know what killpatrick will charge me for turn key 800 and 1000 hp(N/A). No clue what a procharger costs. Not scared to spend money where it counts, but need a place to start planning.

No matter what you build it needs to have a good foundation. A procharged engine or a 1000hp NA will cost the same money then you have to add the price of the blower stuff on top of it. Your goal is easily obtainable NA

the SMRE site has kits listed with HP #'s
then you have the engine to build.
