Thanks, we still have a very lot to learn about today's drag racing and the car too! The picture you see was taken at the Good Guys Nostalgia Nationals at Beech Bend. It was only the third, full bore run down the track----Period! Jeff had a couple of "shakedown" runs on 1/8 mile tracks along with his driver's license passes---that's all before Beech Bend. That's the total of his drag racing experience----remember, we are stock car racers----that's where we got the P7 experience, on the dirt tracks.
When we started into the drag race thing, we wanted to build a car that was as nostalgic as possible----thus the zoomie headers and the individual runner injectors. And it had to look good too---you know, "Fluff n' Buff" thing. We had some help along the way---Engler built the injectors(the only ones in existence for a P7)and Kowalski built the mid plate whick serves as an adapter for the block and a structural member too. We had some challenges with the dry sump pump(space), locating the fuel pump, getting the converter to work plus numerous other details.
I guess what surprised me most was not how well Jeff drove, not that the car ran well but that Good Guys awarded us "Best Engineered-2009"---quite an honor.

The lil 358" went a 7.68 on its third pass but was overcome on the big end by the blown hemi with a 7.54 but it shows some potential
Some Potential?????
To me when NA comes that close to supercharged with not even 3/4 of the cubes, I'd say you're doing something right
Great numbers for a SB and I'm sure you'll be low 7's soon

I would love to see some more pics, I have thought about building something similar. Could you email me some Sanborn? Or post them up here? Thanks AL....
