Iam putting together a different 383 for my road runner and was wondering if a Edelbrock performer RPM manifold will fit with an air grabber hood air cleaner and not contact the air grabber ring or hood. I do have a 440 base which sits about .5" lower, but wonder if I will have problems. I just dont want to go thru the trouble of installing this if it will hit my hood. Thanks

On my old '70 RR with a 383, RPM intake and 440 base, it wasn't even close to working. Not sure about a '69 RR air grabber though...

Thanks! I have a edelbrock performer that my friend is letting me use, and that may be my best bet. I would love to use the performer rpm being that the engine was dynoed with that set-up but since I am not modifying air grabber space, I will be using a Performer non rpm or a stock mopar m1 replacement.

DP4B works with a stock 383 air cleaner on a low deck , at least it did on my Bee .
Why not find a base 383 someone cobbled and cut it to fit by grafting in a drop base 14" base to it ?

good information to know! I was wondering if it would fit or not in your case for my opwn future reference. I was able to got an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake with a Holley 'Street Avenger' 770cfm carburetor under the hood of my 1968 Dodge Coronet (with the Super Bee bulge hood), and I had a 14x4" air cleaner element (with a drop base) without it touching at all. This is my next move! Nothing looks as goos as though big oval Mopar air cleaners on top of an engine, in my opinion.
