Thanks! Hey guy's, there is a long story that can explain my question and why I feel I need a hi-pressure pump. Normally, I do use a stock oil pump (even in my RR), sometimes I'll use a HV pump in customers cars and what not. Here I feel I need a HP pump, like I said, long story.

I am running a stock Melling pump on my 416 that I took apart and cleaned up the casting a little it holds 45# at hot idle and crosses the line at close to 80# hot I had a HV in it at first and it was pushing 95# hot so I pulled it out and these pressures where verified with 2 different gauges.

Titan Speed makes a billet alluminum pump that you can crank stupid pressure and stupid volume if you desire. I had an oil pump break in the main body one time and decided I needed this pump. The rotor is about 1 1/2 times longer than the HV 72. It also uses a different shape rotor(like a ford). This pump requires some pan work also. The pump was just way to much volume for me and when you regulated it down to 80 psi, which it will hold at a hot idle, it was just burning up HP. I now use an external pump from SCP.
My HV72 pumps right out of the box would make 85 psi through the traps and 55 idling hot. I did run a roller cam, oiled through the pushrods, and ran a needle bearing cam bearing. Probably could have easily gotten away with a stock pump.

Dave I believe it is Precision who takes a Melling and blueprints it. I just followed Ryan J's directions and did mine and very similar to what Larry Lar414 did, I also opened up the main cap to match. You doing this on a 474 W9 by chance ??
