Who here races with a mouthguard?

I was watching Pass Time and saw an altered driver slip one in, which makes sense, but took me by surprise..

Never thought about a mouth piece but always made sure my head was all the way back on head rest. Only made that mistake once.

The altered probably didn't have any suspension, making it a pretty rough ride. I don't wear one, and can't say I have ever met anyone who does.

Used to wear them when I drove demo derby.Of course I actually wore a firesuit..shin guards ...knee pads...elbow pads and a neck collar....got called sissy a lot...but the ones who called me that made the S's whistle between what once had been teeth !

Most concussions are caused by the jaw slamming into the skull...it's also like a sledge hammer hitting it...thats why football players wear mouthguards as do boxers...

You see some of the top fuel guys running them, and I have seen a couple Comp guys running them as well. I know a couple bracket racers that do because they grind their teeth while driving, and there mouth and teeth hurt bad after a close run.

I've used one now for a couple years.. I think its safe insurance.. it was like 25 bucks, which is alot cheaper than have my teeth fixed..
