Not sure what the air registered and all that, but was a beautiful day yesterday here in Indy with a temp in the high 70s.....Slight breeze all day...more of the same called for today ....Mornings are still fairly cool....Someone may pay post a better number if they get an early run.....

i broke a convertor on friday and changed the trans friday night,, i had a few things i was "testing" and i know there are a few guys that follow or support me so ill post my numbers,, the first round of the eliminator i dialed an 8.88 thinking it was going to run an 8.85,, air was 1800ft,, 1600ft first session on saturday when i ran 89, warford ran 59...

i was .014 on the tree,, dialed an 8.88 and ran an 8.90 at 139mph,, starting to lift around 800-900 feet cause i was a car and a half in front of the guy who left before me..

60ft 1.174
330ft 3.505
1/8th 5.500 122.62
then i lifted to real him in
1000 7.283
1/4 8.901 139.60

by me looking at it,, jerry caro, james caro, and little joe,, "should" have been an 8.72-8.75 if i had stayed in it,,

do you agree charlie? i dont have many runs to compare to,, you know increments,, if you ran 5.500 at the 1/8th two years ago or so what would it have run out to be running 151 at the 1/4 or so?

i lost that round,, the guy i raced had a .003 light and ran 9.062 on a 9.06 dial,, a .005 package.

60ft 1.211
330 3.595
660 5.617 121.25
1000 7.38
1320 8.890 147.99

it was 1600ft that run, i had too much jet in it.

the 2nd qualifing run i leaned it back out, but it got up and unloaded about 30ft out and shifted into 2nd and it has a small 2nd gear and it just killed it,, felt like it fell into a hole in the car.

60ft 1.252
330 3.671
660 5.70 120.85
1000 7.467
1320 8.976 148.48

i had 2750ft on that run,, close to same as us nationals

here was the best run with a motor i built in little joes car

60ft 1.204
330 3.517
660 5.488
1000 7.209
1320 8.683

a run jerry made

60ft 1.179
330 3.530
660 5.535 122.22
1000 7.285
1320 8.787 149.07

i know i would have run the back half faster than this run and having .03 on him at the 330 and 1.8th,, thats where i got that id run an 8.75,,i lifted some to try to pull him in closer to me right after the 1/8th, so i know the 1000ft is off a little,, but then i lifted completely out of it just about about 1100ft,, too much and he went past me by a foot or two,, but either way i was happy that i made a small change and it woke up alot, i need to test. i dont know if im going to maple grove but i made progress this past weekend.

I'm figuring you all have heard that Hakim and Donato (sorry if spelling is wrong) is now gone from Chysler, it will be interesting what is next for hemi shootouts as I was hearing rumors at Columbus they was maybe pulling plug on all shootouts. This not a good thing at all after many people have sunk lots of time and money in their Darts and Cudas to keep up with the main heard of elephants.
Will it go back to running for a wally and just a few bucks? Who will start bailing out of these cash elephants? All good question.
Remember Donato was heading the new Challenger deal also. I never did see Jon Clark at Columbus but i heard he is still with them.

Just food for thoughts.

I heard that Chrysler Classic Events , the Blankenships, are going to make a play for the series. He maybe putting together a package. It will be picked up by somebody. We are trying to step up a sponsorship package for whomever is the highest bidder for the series.
