COMP has a solid that flys under the radar but is one of the best cams ever ground for a hot 340 It is 255 at 050 540 lift--on a 340 or 360 it goes in at about 103 for 1/8th milers and maybe 104 ish for 1/4--a little more won't hurt but it LOVES 103 in most apps--that little cam with 1.5 rockers will FLY!! I have seen it out run all the more "scienced" picks year after year---I had one in a crate motor 360 duster and it would run 6.90 in the 1/8th all day long with TONS of torque--all the guys that had the bigger stuff couldn't hang with it---The better your heads the better it runs and it will turn a ton of RPM if you have the spring to do it--I always ran it a few weeks and then stepped the spring pressure up and BAM! The real secret is that it is on a 106 LSA--Bad A$$ small blocks love tighter LSA--I am speaking of 340-360 not strokers here---I did most of my testing and running with this on 1/8 th mile stuff---I have two on the shelf for future use--none better IMO---with the right converter and torque tubes on a great header it is amazing!

I've been impressed with the Hughes cams I've had. The hydraulic in my 340 ran a best of 7.24 in the 1/8 at 3300#, low 7.30s in the heat, it was 237/242 @ .050 with .586/.592 lift with 1.6 rockers. My 408 has a Hughes flat solid with EDM lifters, 260/264 @ .050 with .626/.633 lift. So far it's ran 6.743 spinning, I think it has mid 6.60s in it. Call Dave

For some good education on what cam and why...
...I would recommend calling Tim Goolsby @ Bullet Cams.

We have had good success with a Bullet-Ultradyne Cams.

Tim will spec out a great cam for you.
